Signal in the Noise: Why I Created This Blog

The current space to express ones opinions is restricted to the media for the powerful, and social networks for regular dudes. Basically, if you wanna convey ideas that somewhat involve an intellectual effort, you are competing against high dopamine generating content, which make your message less understandable for the unattentive user amid the infinite scrolling feed. It is like being the most intelligent person in a room, with a message to tell the others that would be of high interest to them, but there is so much noise that nobody hears what you have to say, even if they would like to.

Finding Signal in a Saturated Attention Economy

Therefor, in such conditions in the saturated attention economy, I had no other choice than to create this blog, where there is no distraction, just high quality content to navigate among the ambiant noise, to try to look for the signal hiding behind it.

The Bullshitization of Professional Platforms

Another tendency that I strongly fear is the bullshitization of platforms that were first deemed professional and reliable, not to mention LinkedIn. Because of recommendation algorithms hiding everywhere, the content that you see the most on this platform is clickbait, like "It's my last year working as the CEO of my startup... blalbla... We are now working somewhere else, not anymore in my room", or stuff that you don't give a damn about, with people that never talk to each other in real life, but are surprisingly chearing each other there.

The Real Challenge: Finding Quality Content

Some people will argue, that I am seeing the empty part of the bottle, and that Internet and the proliferation of information has made it accessible for the masses. True, but the problem now is to find high quality content that actually empowers indivuals to think by themselves, and eventually compounds in a more accurate analysis of the world. Some people call it intelligence, other experience, but it really is about interpreting the world the most accurately, and thereafter be able to take action over it.

My Protocol

My protocol will be dead simple. Every two days, I will publish an article about a field of interest that I think will bring a valuable intellectual tool in understanding a current situation, whether it is related to politics, economics, sciences, finance, psychology or social dynamics. This way of conveying information may seem boring and not understanding the current dynamics of the attention economy. Indeed, it is. Contrary to the mainstream social media, or overall media, the goal will neither be commenting on random, even though spectacular events, nor seeking high dopamine generation in the users body. The optimization metric that dictates this blog is simply the compound effect of knowledge, curiosity and intellectual honesty. These three pillars are what makes you ahead of the herd on the long term, even though it demands some discipline at the beginning.

The AI Promise

Finally, the last reason for this blog to exist, is to counterbalance the immense intellectual debt companies, people and the society are compounding because of an unreasonable use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and especially Large Language Models (LLMs). That's why the promise I make hear is to never use AI whatsoever in the creation of the following articles. Some will argue I am not using the tools everybody is using, and therefor will be less competitive. They are wrong. I am competing here in a field that AI will hardly address: raising awareness about subjects that go beyond the radar, the things that people don't know they don't know. AI only helps you for the things you know you don't know, but that's only the visible part of the iceberg of ignorance we all face.

Thank you for reading this first article, there will surely be some typos or syntax issues. Will let them, as a guarantee of authentically AI free generated content.
